back again

Hmm.. it seems like eons since I last blogged.. ha.. (2 weeks plus to be exact) but seriously.. it felt like it's damn long ago.

Now dat I've been back in SAF Bands for 2 weeks plus le, finally have the time to sit down and blog. 2 weeks, and I seriously feel pretty much settled down and gotten used to the lifestyle in Bands. Initially thought I'll probably take some time to adjust back to the more regimental life of Bands, having slacked in MDC for like, 2+ months? But somehow, I now feel pretty much at home in SAF Band B le... haha~ And of cos, I have made lotsa new friends along the way~! :)

Looking back, I have already been through 1 major OCS parade and 2 smaller Guards of Honor (GOH) parades.. Not really anything impressive, but at least till now, I dun see wat's so dreary about parades. Maybe it's becos I believe in and practise wat the RSM of PROVOS unit once said: "You got to feel proud of yourself and you'll naturally look smart and feel good." Maybe dat's why I dun dread parades, ha~ Nor do I feel it's really damn xiong. You just got to feel good doing it, cos 'It's all in the mind', I guess.. ;)

Bands life aside, my personal life is also pretty happening recently. Just finished designing the poster for Braddell Heights CO's upcoming concert in July, and will have to follow up soon with the ticket design.. and ultimately the programme booklet in time to come. Quite taxing actually, given the very tight time constraints and the extremely packed schedule dat I have in Bands. It took me many sleepless nights, amidst days spent falling-in damn early for parades (6am?) to accomplish this. But still, luckily I managed to pull it off and completed a design dat at least I'm quite proud of. Here's a scaled down version, and do tag me ur comments:

Must say this poster is one dat I put in the most effort so far, given dat I actually went so far as to borrow a powerful camera from Hansheng (thanks a million, bro!), get a model and also arrange for a photo shoot will the minimal equipments available. Ha.. must say it's quite a bold attempt to use a close-up shot of a person's face on the poster, knowing dat this will definitely put both my photography and photo-editing skills very much to the test. Met with quite a bit of obstacles along the way, but subsequently also learnt a lot. And I must say this is the most tedious poster that I've done so far, but also one dat I'm most proud of so far.. :) Some things can only be learnt thru experience, and I'm very grateful for being given the chance to experiment and create.

With this, I'll have to continue working on the tickets and programme booklets. Hope everything will be more smooth-sailing now.. *prays* Wish me luck guys~
