I was bored...

Originally intended to queue up overnight for a 20gb Creative Zen player.. gave up the idea after just 15min of research of its pros and cons.. and thus was bored enough to attempt this.

And here's my test results:

Keith Jiahong, your Super IQ score is 131

Your overall intelligence quotient is the result of a scientifically-tested formula based on how many questions you answered correctly. But it's only part of what we learned about you from your answers on the test. We also determined the way you process information.

The way you think about things makes you a Creative Theorist. This means you are a highly intelligent, complex person. You are able to process information of nearly every kind with ease, using both creativity and analysis to make sense of the world. Compared to others you also have a very rich imagination.

How did we determine that your thinking style is that of a Creative Theorist? When we examined your test results further, we analyzed how you scored on 8 dimensions of intelligence: spatial, organizational, abstract reasoning, logical, mechanical, verbal, visual and numerical. The 3 dimensions you scored highest on combine to make you a Creative Theorist. Only 6 out of 1,000 people have this rare combination of abilities.

Ok.. I noe how lame this is. But it's all in the name of boredom yah? NHFO.

Project Superstar afterthoughts

I supported Junyang... right from the start of the competition, and till the very end. But he lost inevitably.

I foresee his unfortunate exit from the competition right from the moment when he mispitched his falsettos. During the next bar or so, his notes wavered together with his confidence, and I feel for him, for I have been through major flops in performances before. I still can vividly remember the immense feeling of regret when I screwed up a lead drum part at the most unexpected bars, and the torrential feeling of overwhelming guilt thereafter, for having let down the hordes of people that believed in me. And there was supposed to be a replay of the piece that went wrong for encore, but the plan was called off at the very last minute. Leaving me even more regretful having lost the chance to redeem myself by presenting the piece in its fullest glory. But I guess concerts are like competitions. There is only just one chance. And I guess Junyang lost his too.

Though the competition, Weilian, too din perform as well, Junyang was still ousted. Maybe there's just tad more of sympathy votes, though people always argue that his singing IS good, and that he deserves to win. But when 2 contestants are of equal standing in terms of musical accomplishment, surely the aspect that one is handicapped stands out more and gain more sympathy votes, whether voters admit it or not. And while Junyang was being picked on for his stage presence and his dance moves, Weilian was commended for just trying to sway to the groove, unnatural and rigid as it was.

How can a competition be fair once there is such vast difference in its contestants?

And in the final outcome, Weilian was crowned Singapore first Superstar. But will he ever truly find true happiness being given this honour by the hordes of people that voted for him? I doubt. The countless votes that paved the way to Superstardom for him win may just become his bane in time to come. Just take a look at the number of times he broke down in his interviews and such when he recalls criticisms of him winning by sympathy votes. He even mentioned that he requested to withdraw from competitions as he cannot handle the immense pressure from the public, as he is one that can be extremely affected by even one negative criticism out of many positive comments. Surely this personality does not make him a suitable candidate to be a Superstar.

A Superstar inevitably will have to stand up against negative criticisms by the media and the public, and if he cannot handle such stress, then perhaps he will find more joy just basking, to entertain those that like his music and is willing to stop by and just listen, where his audience will only consist of those that like and support him.
